WBT Process Overview
Comparison
•Current oil/water separation through existing facilities is largely time dependent utilizing free water knockouts, gun barrels, etc. Inconsistent separation through traditional methods allow hydrocarbons to pass through and be sent downstream to the SWD. Subsequently, the operators inject the oil downhole losing out on potential revenue that can be captured by the WBT process.
WBT clarification
•WBT clarification effectively captures 99.9% of the hydrocarbons in the segregated stream allowing the operator to capitalize on additional oil revenue.
Brine byproduct
•An additional vertical for the permeate or byproduct is brine water. In West Texas, quoted prices for brine have ranged from $1.50/bbl to as high as $4.75/bbl.
WBT CLARIFICATION PROCESS
The WBT clarification process separates the
contaminated fluid, removing oils, bacteria,
and other pollutants leaving very high-quality water fit for
re-use as frac fluid, workover fluid, or kill
fluid. The segregated stream possesses a
reduced water content relative to the inlet
stream allowing the oil particles to coalesce more
efficiently, this segregated stream
can then be put through a traditional
separation process.
